15 258 Chapter Canopy Sign SIGNS Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective January 13, 2026 15.5 Canopy Sign Description A sign that is attached to a canopy on a multifamily, commercial/mixed-use, or nonresidential building Standards Permitted Districts PD CI NC CC DD 1ST 5TH RC4 RC6 RC12 GO LI HI Quantity Maximum of one sign per canopy per building facade and may be used only if no wall, band, or awning sign exists on the building facade Sign Area Maximum of 90 percent of the canopy face or 120 square feet, whichever is smaller Standards (Continued) Placement Shall be placed on the front face of the canopy and outside of the HPO, the sign may be placed above the canopy when channel cut letters are used Shall not project below the canopy or be located above the building roof line Projection Maximum of one foot from the canopy face Materials Metal Lighting External illumination only , subject to Subsection 15.1.5, External Illumination
