375 DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS Defined Terms 23 Chapter Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective January 1, 2025 the ground floor area of a building or structure under roof and the net area of the site. This is intended for sites where there will be two or more nonresidential buildings on the same lot for the purpose of ensuring that building sites meet the same requirements for development as buildable lots in accordance with this Ordinance. Building Stepback The linear organization of building form within a single building that establishes portions of a building with a higher or lower height in a deliberate progression. Buildings may be “stepped-back” from the street edge, from a lot line, or from adjacent buildings. Building Type A classification of a building. Building types are described in Section 6.2, Overview of Building Types. Building Wall The entire surface area, including windows and doors, of an exterior wall of a building.
