23 370 Chapter Defined Terms DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective January 1, 2023 Landscape Plan Separate sheets of a submittal for a site plan application that show how the development is designed to meet tree protection, landscape, buffers, and screening requirements. Landscape Surface Area The portion of a lot or development site not covered by impervious surface and is available for accommodating landscape material. Large-Scale Office Building Type A principal building type described as such in Section 6.9, Large-Scale Office Building. Large-Scale Retail Building Type A principal building type described in Section 6.10, Large Scale Retail Building. Lattice Tower A structure composed of three or four support legs with crossed frame design. LED Display Screen A flat display panel that uses an array of lightemitting diodes as pixels for a display of an image or video. This definition includes plasma or similar screens. Levee For the purposes of Section 17.6, Floodplain Regulations, a man-made structure, usually an earthen embankment, designed and constructed in accordance with sound engineering practices to contain, control or divert the flow of water so as to provide protection from temporary flooding. Levee System For the purposes of Section 17.6, Floodplain Regulations, a flood protection system which consists of a levee, or levees, and associated structures, such as closure and drainage devices, which are constructed and operated in accordance with sound engineering practices. Light Industrial Uses The manufacturing, processing, or assembly of products within a fully enclosed structure where noise, odor, light, or vibrations are not noticeable from the adjacent properties. Loading Area Area conveniently located for bulk pickups and deliveries, scaled to delivery vehicles, and not considered as part of the minimum required parking spaces. Loading Area Local Street A type of street defined by Connect Franklin designed primarily for access directly to individual lots or developments. Lot A parcel of land occupied, or intended to be occupied, by one main building, or a group of main buildings, including open spaces as required by this Ordinance and other regulations and ordinances.
