11 186 Chapter Neighborhood Amenities OPEN SPACE Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective December 30, 2019 11.5 Neighborhood Amenities Description Neighborhood amenities that count toward the open space set aside are outdoor recreation areas, such as pools, sports fields, sports courts, playgrounds, and dog parks typically for use by residents of the development Standards Permitted Districts ER R1 R2 R3 R4 R6 MR PD CC RC6 RC12 Dimensions Minimum size of 5,000 square feet Arrangement Shall provide a sidewalk connection to a sidewalk along any adjacent street Landscape Minimum one large canopy tree and two understory trees per each 2,500 square feet and landscaped in a formal arrangement Lighting Pedestrian- scale lighting only Stormwater Stormwater management features shall not be counted as open space
