23 334 Chapter Measurements, Calculations, and Interpretation of Dimensional Standards DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective December 30, 2019 A. “And” indicates that all connected items, conditions, provisions or events apply; and B. “Or” indicates that one or more of the connected items, conditions, provisions or events apply. 23.1.10 Tenses and Plurals Words used in the present tense include the future tense. Words used in the singular number include the plural number and vice versa, unless the context of the particular usage clearly indicates otherwise. 23.1.11 Hierarchical Outline ThisOrdinance is organized into thehierarchical levels as shown below. All references within this Ordinance that reference a different part of this Ordinance shall apply as follows: Chapter 1 Section 1.1 Subsection 1.1.1 Paragraph 1.1.1.A Clause 1.1.1.A.1 Clause 1.1.1.A.1.a Clause 1.1.1.A.1.a.i Clause 1.1.1.A.1.a.i.(1 23.2 Measurements, Calculations, and Interpretation of Dimensional Standards 23.2.1 Calculations When the calculation of a required standard results in a fractional number, it shall be rounded up to the nearest whole number, unless otherwise expressly stated. 23.2.2 Distance Measurements Distances specified in this Ordinance are to be measured as the length of an imaginary straight line joining those points, unless otherwise expressly stated. 23.2.3 Lot Standards A. Lot Size 1. The lot size shall be that area, measured in gross square feet or acres, contained within a lot. 2. Theminimum lot size is the smallest size of a lot established by this Ordinance on which a use or structure may be located in a particular district. B. Lot Width 1. Lot width is the distance between the side lot lines measured at the point of the front yard setback line. 2. For corner lots, the lot width is the distance between the side lot line and the side street-facing lot line, measured at the point of the front yard setback line.
