23 372 Chapter Defined Terms DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective December 8, 2020 Lot A parcel of land occupied, or intended to be occupied, by one main building, or a group of main buildings, including open spaces as required by this Ordinance and other regulations and ordinances. Lot of Record A lot or tract of land, described by deed and/or subdivision plat, filed in the Register’s Office, Williamson County, Tennessee. Lot Size The area, measured in gross square feet or acres, contained within a lot. Lot Lot Width The distance between the side lot lines measured at the point of the front yard setback line. For corner lots, the lot width is the distance between the side lot line and the side street-facing lot line, measured at the point of the front yard setback line. Lowest Floor The floor surface of the lowest enclosed area of a structure, including a basement. An unfinished or flood-resistant enclosure, usable solely for parking vehicles, building access, or storage, in an area other than a basement area, is not considered to be the lowest floor of a building, provided that the enclosure is not built so as to render the structure in violation of the applicable non-elevation design requirements of this Ordinance. Lowest Floor m Machinery Assembly and Repair Facility An establishment engaged in the assembly, maintenance, or repair of commercial and industrial machinery and equipment. Mailbox Delivery Facilities Two or more mailboxes located within a common supporting structure. Main Body The primary mass of a building. The main body may be augmented by side or rear wings as well as bays, porches, and balconies.
