Awnings • Determine whether awnings are compatible with the building’s architectural style and design them in traditional locations. • Fit the awning proportionately over window or door openings with an appropriate overlap at the sides. • Use a color that is compatible with the overall building’s color scheme. • Use duck canvas or cotton and polyester blends with or without acrylic treatment. Avoid vinyl awnings. • Avoid covering architectural details or damaging the building or its architectural features during installation.
