DRAFT FRANKLIN HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGN GUIDELINES 44 Residential Buildings Non-Historic Residential Buildings This section provides guidelines for alterations and additions to non-historic residential buildings. For these types of changes, compatibility with the character of the district is the focus. Alterations and additions should be designed to complement and blend with the historic residential buildings in the district. Non-historic buildings are considered non-contributing because they were not constructed during the period of significance for the district.
