Do not use vinyl awnings. • Avoid covering character-defining architectural details with awnings. Dormers • Appropriately size and locate dormers to fit with the architectural style and roof shape of the building. • Relate the style, scale, and proportion of dormer windows to windows on lower floors of the building.
