DRAFT FRANKLIN HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGN GUIDELINES 60 Residential Buildings New Residential buildings Chimneys • Design chimneys to be compatible in size, height, and massing to existing chimneys on neighboring historic houses. • Use stone, brick, or brick veneer materials. Gutters and Downspouts • Use half-round gutters if the building architectural style is reflective of dates before 1940. • Use ogee gutters if the building architectural styles is reflective of dates 1940 or later.
