309 HISTORIC RESOURCES Corridor Context 18 Chapter Franklin Zoning Ordinance Effective January 13, 2026 18.7 Corridor Context 18.7.1 Description The corridor context edge treatment preserves the setting of the historic resource where development is proposed across a street from and within view of a historic building. 18.7.2 Standards A. Any new buildings across the street from the historic resource property shall be designed: 1. To be similar in scale and shall not be more than one story taller than the historic building; 2. To have traditional architectural character; and 3. To utilize traditional materials and design that are contextual and complementary to the historic resource without mimicking the historic resource. B. Where the historic resource property is at least two acres and located within the SCO, any new lot fronting an arterial or collector street across from the historic resource property shall be at least two acres, to lessen the potential adverse impact and intensity of the new development. The new lot may be an open space lot or contain up to one principal building.
