MAR 2022 DRAFT FRANKLIN HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGN GUIDELINES 11 chapter 1 Effective Date The HZC recommended approval of the Guidelines on (date). The Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) adopted the Guidelines on (date), which became effective on (date). All Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) applications submitted on or after (date) will be subject to these Guidelines. An applicant with a pending COA application as of the effective date may waive review under the previous Guidelines and request review under these Guidelines. Applicability of the Guidelines The Guidelines are applicable to properties within the HPO, which includes the City of Franklin's local historic districts and landmarks, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The City of Franklin Historic Preservation Program website has maps of the HPO and the individual historic districts. See Chapter 11, Franklin's Historic Resources, for further information.
