FRANKLIN HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGN GUIDELINES 200 Franklin’s Historic Resources Local Historic Districts Everbright Avenue The Everbright Avenue Historic District is composed of 1920s Craftsman residences that were originally part of the campus of Battle Ground Academy, which was built in 1889. The land was part of Congressman Richard Bostick's Everbright estate, and passed through the hands of Samuel Graham, of Pinewood fame, and Franklin Mayor John B. McEwen before being sold. This district includes some of the finest Craftsman buildings in Williamson County. Key Characteristics • One-story houses • Craftsman style predominates • Porches common • Moderate front yards, and side and back yards • Lawns and grouped and individual trees • Traditionally placed detached accessory structures
