Rubber membrane roofing material is appropriate for flat roofs with parapet walls. • Alternative materials may be considered for use on a case-by-case basis. Considerations include the potential impact on historic significance, durability, accuracy of appearance, location, environmental impacts, and interaction with historic building materials. Roofs • Design roofs to be flat and utilize parapets to be similar to similar surrounding historic commercial buildings.
