Civic buildings include those with government, religious, educational, and other public purposes, and they are often unique and highly recognizable landmarks that relate to their surroundings. This Chapter provides guidance on historic civic buildings, additions to historic civic buildings, additions and alterations to non-historic civic buildings, and guidance for the construction of new civic buildings in Franklin’s historic districts.
