Franklin’s historic and cultural sites should be accessible to visitors and residents with disabilities, including physical access features, user friendly digital tools, and clear communication supports. To advance this work, Visit Franklin should lead a collaborative initiative with planners, tourism professionals, historic sites, museums, businesses, and other stakeholders and hire an accessibility consultant with experience in historic environments to evaluate current conditions. This could lead to developing a coordinated plan to improve accessibility—such as adding seating, enhancing closed captioning, upgrading restrooms, or offering ASL interpreted tours.
